The Risks Are Real

Construction is one of the highest
fire risk industries in the UK.

Every day on a construction site, the ingredients for a serious fire are present. Open-flame gas torches inches from felt and timber. Live distribution boards with no protection. Solvent adhesives and bitumen in enclosed spaces. Oily rags left near heat sources.

The HSE reports that fire and explosion account for around 20% of all major construction site accidents. Hot works alone — welding, cutting, soldering and torch work — are responsible for thousands of site fires and billions of pounds in insurance claims every year.

A hot works permit doesn't protect you. An extinguisher in the van doesn't protect you. The only protection that matters is the one within arm's reach at the moment ignition happens. The Fire Safety Stick is compact enough to sit in a tool bag — and covers every certified fire class (A, B, C, F and electrical fires) you'll face on site.

Hot works permits require an extinguisher on site.

Under HSE guidance and most site insurance policies, an appropriate fire extinguisher must be present during hot works and for a minimum of 60 minutes after completion. The Fire Safety Stick meets this requirement — in a device that fits in the palm of your hand.

Hot Works — Welding, Cutting & Grinding
Sparks travel up to 10 metres. Cutting and grinding generate temperatures exceeding 1,500°C. Combustible materials left nearby can smoulder for hours after work finishes — the majority of hot works fires start after the operative has left.
Roofers & Plumbers — LPG & Gas Torches
Propane and butane torches used for lead work, felt laying and pipe soldering operate at over 1,900°C. Proximity to roofing materials, insulation and dried timber creates a dangerous combination — especially in lofts and confined spaces.
Electricians — Live Systems & Distribution Boards
Electrical faults are the leading cause of fire on completed construction projects. Working near live switchgear, installing in energised buildings or testing newly completed circuits — all carry real ignition risk that standard extinguishers cannot safely handle.
Builders — Solvents, Adhesives & Timber
Contact adhesives, bitumen, cellulose thinners and solvent-based primers are highly flammable. Combined with timber framing, insulation and scaffolding boards, a builder's site contains significant Class A and Class B fire risk at every stage of the build.
Built for Every Trade

One device. Every
trade. Every site.

From sole traders to principal contractors, the Fire Safety Stick is the compact, tool-bag-ready device that meets site requirements across every discipline.

Builders & General Contractors
Timber framing, adhesives, solvents and power tools across every phase of a build. One unit covers Class A, B and electrical fires coverage handles the full range of post-hot-works smoulder risk in fabrication environments.
Post-Hot-Works Smoulder Risk
Decorators & Fit-Out Trades
Solvent-based primers, lacquers, cellulose thinners and contact adhesives in enclosed spaces create significant Class B fire risk — especially during heat gun stripping near timber. Small, discreet and immediately effective.

Electricians — Take Note

100,000 volts. No other extinguisher
comes close.

Most standard fire extinguishers are Electrical fires rated to just 1,000 volts. For electricians working near live systems, that is not enough. The Fire Safety Stick is rated to 100,000 volts — and leaves zero residue on sensitive components.

100K
Volts — Electrical fires rated

Most traditional extinguishers are rated to just 1,000 volts.
The Fire Safety Stick goes 100× further — and leaves no residue on switchgear, components or wiring.

Safe Near Live Distribution Boards
100,000-volt Electrical fires rating means you can deploy with confidence near live switchgear, consumer units and distribution boards — without risk of electrical feedback or electrocution.
Zero Residue on Components & Wiring
Powder extinguishers destroy the equipment they save. The Fire Safety Stick's aerosol agent leaves absolutely zero residue — protecting switchgear, cable trays, breakers and control panels from secondary damage.
Energised Buildings & Fit-Out Work
Installing in live commercial or residential buildings means fire risk from existing circuits at all times. The Fire Safety Stick is the only extinguisher compact enough to carry on every job and capable enough to handle what you find.
Testing & Commissioning Risk
Initial energisation of newly completed circuits and systems carries real ignition risk from wiring faults, overloads and connection failures. Keep a Fire Safety Stick at the board during every test and commission.

Why Trades Choose It

The extinguisher built
for the job.

01

Fits in a Tool Bag — Goes Everywhere You Do

At just 215g, the Fire Safety Stick slips into any tool bag, van kit box or roof bag. You don't leave it in the van — you carry it to the point of work. That is the only extinguisher that actually protects you.

02

Zero Residue — No Secondary Damage

Powder extinguishers destroy switchgear, contaminate worksites and create expensive clean-up liability. The Fire Safety Stick's aerosol agent leaves nothing behind — the only residue-free extinguisher suited to active construction environments.

03

15 Years — No Annual Service

No annual inspection certificate, no contractor visit, no replacement. For sole traders and small teams, this removes both cost and admin. Buy it once, carry it always — for 15 years.

Common Questions

FAQs

Yes. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and HSE guidance, employers and principal contractors must ensure appropriate fire-fighting equipment is readily available on site at all times. Hot works operatives are typically required under permit conditions to keep a fire extinguisher within arm's reach during and for at least 60 minutes after completion of work.

Yes — and it is specifically chosen by electricians for this reason. The Fire Safety Stick is Electrical fires rated to 100,000 volts, making it completely safe to deploy near live distribution boards, switchgear, cable trays and high-voltage systems. The aerosol agent is fully non-conductive. Most traditional extinguishers are rated to only 1,000 volts, which is wholly inadequate for electrical installation work.

Yes. The Fire Safety Stick covers Class C flammable gas fires, including LPG (propane and butane) as used by roofers, plumbers and lead workers. It also covers Class B flammable liquids such as bitumen, solvents, adhesives and cutting oils — the full range of liquid and gas fire risks on a typical construction site.

Yes. Hot works permits typically require an appropriate extinguisher to be present during work and for a minimum standby period afterwards (commonly 60 minutes). The Fire Safety Stick is UKCA and CE certified, covers the fire classes associated with hot works (A, B and C) and is compact enough to be carried to the point of work — meeting the requirement in the most practical way possible.

No. The Fire Safety Stick leaves absolutely zero residue — unlike powder extinguishers which coat everything in a fine chemical dust that destroys electrical components, contaminates finished surfaces and creates significant clean-up cost. For electricians, decorators and finish-trades working in completed or near-completed buildings, this is particularly important.
